Employee Spotlight – Daniel Relihan

Employee Spotlight – Daniel Relihan

Daniel started his career at Purdy-McGuire in 2014, and is another one of our shining stars. He’s a quiet sort, but don’t let that fool you! Daniel is personable with everyone, and has a great sense of humor. We can always count on him for help – whether it’s coordinating our next Hearts & Hammers adventure or simply helping someone carry their packages up to the office. Yep, our Daniel is one of a kind. Just like Purdy-McGuire.

  1. I am a proud graduate of Kansas State University and an avid fan of K-State sports.
  2. I love traveling pt 1. I’ve been to 48 of the 50 states, and am itching to hit the last two, Alaska and Hawaii.
  3. I love traveling pt 2. I became addicted to traveling abroad from a trip to Italy in 2013.  I have quite a few relatives there and can’t wait to go back and speak Italian with them. (I’m still trying to learn Italian.)
  4. Playing all kinds of sports is one of my favorite things to do. I have at some point in my life played organized basketball, football, soccer, track and field, baseball, softball, volleyball, and probably others that I forgot about. (Editor’s Note:  Yeah, check Pinstack in Plano to see if anyone has beat Daniel’s rock-climbing time…)
  5. I love to enjoy nature, particularly by mountain biking, hiking, camping, kayaking, snowboarding, water sports, etc.
  6. My childhood took place in the beautiful town of Stromsburg, Nebraska (pop. ~1,100), which is dubbed the “Swede capital of Nebraska” (I’m not Swedish). It is the largest town in the county.
  7. I am (slowly) teaching myself how to play the ukulele.
  8. I’m pretty adventurous and enjoy trying new things (like moving to Texas *shudder*), so if you’re ever looking for someone to join you on an adventure, I’m most likely down.
  9. I am mentoring a boy through an organization called Mercy Street Dallas. I am passionate about investing in others to help them grow and make an impact on their communities and the world.
  10. My family makes up an entire basketball team between myself, 3 brothers and dad, although mom is the heart and soul of the team. We are all over 6’ tall.
